Road closed as rescue team attends serious crash scene in Suffolk

A lorry has crashed into a roundabout on the outskirts of a west Suffolk town.

The incident happened at the roundabout on the A1017 near Haverhill  today morning.

A spokeswoman for Suffolk police said the ambulance was stood down, however the driver made his own way to hospital as a precaution.

The fluid on the road has also prompted a call to Suffolk Highways.

The spokeswoman confirmed that the road is currently closed in order to enable the recovery of the vehicle.

According to the AA Traffic Map there are not any significant delays in the area.
