Woman suffers potentially life-threatening injuries in two-vehicle crash

Police are appealing after a woman suffered potentially life-changing injuries following a two-vehicle crash that closed a road in a Suffolk town for three hours.

Officers were called to Duke Street in Ipswich by the East of England Ambulance Service at about 5.10pm yesterday after reports of a collision involving a black Volkswagen Polo and a Honda 125 scooter.

Police, ambulance and air ambulance all attended the incident.

After receiving care at Ipswich Hospital, she was moved to Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, where she is still being treated.

Between Pownall Road and Holywells Road, the road was closed; by 8:10 p.m., all restrictions had been removed.
