They want £60 Sunderland star*

This Saturday, Sunderland and Plymouth Argyle will play in the Championship at the Stadium of Light.

The match comes after the Black Cats’ 3-1 victory over Stoke at home two weeks ago and their 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough, another North East team, at Riverside Stadium last Sunday.

Chris Rigg is still being pursued by teams, including Birmingham City under former manager Tony Mowbray.

The Echo is aware that Sunderland’s Championship competitors are keeping a careful eye on Rigg’s circumstances since the American owners of the team have goals higher up than just staying in the league. The 16-year-old attacking midfielder is wanted by Bayern Munich, Manchester City, Chelsea, Manchester United, and Liverpool.

After agreeing to a two-year scholarship with Sunderland last summer, Rigg has made eight appearances in all competitions this season and scored goals in the Championship and Carabao Cup. Head coach Michael Beale will probably use the player in the second half of the season; you can learn more about Rigg’s transfer status and contract here.

According to reports, West Brom is in advanced negotiations to recruit Yann M’Vila, a former midfield player for Sunderland, for a free.

The 33-year-old hasn’t had a club since departing Greek team Olympiacos at the end of the previous campaign. Beale recently put a stop to rumours that he would be returning to Wearside.

According to Foot Mertaco’s Santi Aouna, a French journalist, West Brom and M’Vila are ‘in advanced negotiations,’ with a four-month deal under consideration.

M’Vila became well-liked on Wearside after making 40 appearances for Sunderland while on loan during the 2015–16 campaign. The midfielder stated at the end of the previous year that he was in talks with Ligue 1 clubs and would like to rejoin Sunderland in order to find a team where he can play on a regular basis.
