Brilliant player undergoing medical’ today with Sunderland…

Leo Fuhr Hjelde of Leeds United is reportedly close to joining Sunderland in the winter transfer window, according to a Norwegian publication.

Journalist Arilas Ould-Saada of TV2 gave a Sunderland supporter-pleasing update on the 20-year-old on X, which was once known as Twitter.

Daniel Farke’s team is expected to get between £1 and 1.5 million from the player’s sale to Sunderland. The Leeds United player’s contract at Elland Road expires in 2025, according to the reporter.

The 20-year-old is “undergoing a medical” with the Black Cats today, according to Ould-Saada.

The writer claims that the left-back and Michael Beale’s team have reached an agreement on a four-and-a-half-year contract, which he would “probably sign” “tonight.”

Put another way, Leo Fuhr Hjelde will join Sunderland as a new player in a few hours.
The Norway U21 international was acquired by Leeds from Celtic in 2021, and he has since made eight appearances, three of which have come this season.

The fullback, who was unable to get regular game time at Leeds, should be able to do so at the Stadium of Light thanks to his upcoming move to the Black Cats.
