The latest Championship transfer news sees Leeds United linked with a reported Sunderland target.
Nathaniel Adjei, a reputed target for Sunderland, has been linked to Leeds United.
Recently, it was reported that Preston North End, Celtic, and Rangers were all interested in Adjei, and that Sunderland and Middlesbrough were engaged in a “transfer race” for his services.
The 21-year-old Ghanian defender is attracting interest from Championship clubs, according to national reports.
The three lower-division clubs are reportedly hoping to secure a berth in the 20-team Premier League by using the defender to support their individual promotion efforts.
Adjei, a player for Hammarby IF in the Allsvenskan in Sweden, is rumoured to have attracted the attention of Rangers scouts, and further sources also indicate Leeds United is also interested.
It has been reported that a team seeking to sign Adjei would need to shell out between £2.6 million and £3.5 million.
At centre back, Sunderland has plenty of options with Luke O’Nien and Dan Ballard being Tony Mowbray’s top choices. Nectar Triantis, Jensen Seelt, Tari Hume, Aji Alese, and Dennis Cirkin are further Black Cats players that can fill in on defence.
