Two fighting for life after ghastly crash closes road in Sussex

A car accident on a busy rural road left two teenagers with serious injuries.

Following yesterday evening’s collision between a Nissan Micra and a Kia Venga, the two 18-year-olds were transported to the hospital.

Witnesses to the collision, which also injured two other people, are now being sought by Sussex Police.

According to a force spokesman, on September 24, at about 8.30 p.m., they were called to the crash on the B2116 close to Plumpton College.

The 18-year-old Hailsham man driving the Nissan and the 18-year-old Ringmer woman riding in it were both seriously injured and were sent to the Royal Sussex County Hospital for medical attention.

Two other passengers in the Nissan, an 18-year-old woman from Arundel and an 18-year-old man from Adversane near Pulborough, were taken to the Royal Sussex with minor injuries.

“Officers are investigating and want to speak with anyone with relevant information about the collision,” a force spokesman stated.

“This covers witnesses as well as anyone who has dashcam or CCTV footage of the collision or of the nearby cars before the collision.

“Information can be reported to Sussex Police online or on 101, quoting Operation Longridge.”
