A murder investigation has been launched after a 76-year-old man found with injuries died.
At approximately 1:00 GMT on Friday, police were called to an address in Northfields Close, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire, following claims of an attack.
Despite receiving CPR, the guy was declared dead an hour later.
Police emphasise that this is an isolated incidence and that a 53-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
“Our deepest condolences remain with this man’s family and friends at this difficult time,” stated Det Insp Mel Crutchley.
“We are treating this as a unique event, even though our investigation is still in its early stages. Everyone involved knows one another.”
