Sutton car thief behind bars after stealing Range Rover, Mercedes, and motorbike

Billy Raddon is starting a nine year stretch for a series of vehicle thefts and a robbery

After committing several crimes in Surrey and South London, an automobile thief is now in prison. Billy Raddon, 22, of Sutton, was given a nine-year prison sentence at Guildford Crown Court on Friday, May 17, for a number of offences, including robbery and car theft. During a raid in Morden, the motoring enthusiast with light fingers was apprehended with £3,000 in cash, keys, and cocaine.

Following a Surrey Police investigation into the theft of a Range Rover from Sutton, the bust took place. The driver of the four-by-four was taken into custody after the Roads Policing Unit stopped it. Later on, it was discovered that he had received payment to move the stolen car. It was then discovered by the police that Raddon was also involved and that he had stolen a motorbike in London.

Raddon was connected to the December 2022 knife point robbery of a Mercedes in Caterham following more investigation. Raddon was seen inside the stolen Mercedes as it was being driven towards Sutton, where the car was eventually retrieved, in videos that the police discovered on his phone. Billy Raddon was ultimately connected to six different crimes in total.

“We have been able to piece together his crimes spanning over a few months thanks to the hard work by everyone involved,” stated Detective Constable McBain of Surrey’s Proactive Investigation Team. Raddon did not consider how his crimes could effect the victims’ life, even though vehicle theft can have a significant financial impact on the victim.
