A man has been charged with the murder of another man who was found dead at his home in Nottinghamshire.
At 00:55 GMT on Friday, police were called to Northfields Close in Sutton-in-Ashfield following complaints of an assault on a male.
At the site, a 76-year-old male who has not yet been publicly named was declared deceased.
On Sunday night, Peter McGarry, 53, of Kirkby-in-Ashfield’s Alexandra Street, was accused of murder.
His next appearance is scheduled at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court.
Nottinghamshire Police’s Det Insp Melanie Crutchley made the following statement: “I would like to reassure residents we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident and our inquiries will continue.”
