Thief who stole £1,500 iPhone from Bulwell foot clinic is jailed’

A thief has been jailed after targeting a Bulwell business during a five-week stealing spree.

On January 3, 23-year-old Raul Marin broke into a Bulwell podiatry practice and stole a £1,500 iPhone.

He had previously struck on Christmas Eve, stealing a wallet and credit cards from a Starbucks staff area in South Parade, Nottingham. On New Year’s Eve, he struck again, stealing £50 worth of wine from the Co-Op store on Middleton Boulevard, Nottingham.

After his Bulwell raid, on 7 January he took an iPad from a tattoo parlour in St James’ Street, Nottingham, and on 25 January he stole another iPhone, valued at £1,000, from a takeaway in Bramcote.
After being identified by a police officer using CCTV footage, he was apprehended and taken into custody on January 30.
On January 31, Marin, of Palin Street, Radford, entered a guilty plea to three counts of commercial burglary and two counts of theft before Nottingham Magistrates’ Court.

He spent a full year behind bars.

“Marin’s behaviour shows his complete lack of regard for other people and I am pleased he has been brought to justice,” Nottinghamshire Police PC Abby Pinnock said.

Many individuals were greatly impacted by his offences, and I hope that knowing he is currently incarcerated will provide them some peace.

“I also hope that this sentence sends a clear message to the general public and business owners about our determination to act quickly and apprehend those who commit crimes like these.”
