Tragedy as man and woman found dead at property after police called

The woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries, but died a short time later

Police are investigating the deaths of a man and woman after being called to a property. West Midlands Police said a man in his 50s was pronounced dead at the scene in Coventry.

The woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries after police went to the property in Caludon Road shortly after 5.30am on Friday. The woman, in her 40s, died from her injuries a short time later.

According to a statement, individuals involved are thought to have known one another, and authorities are not searching for anyone else in relation to the killings.

“Officers are providing support to their next of kin,” the statement continued. We would like to reassure the public that we think this was an isolated event, but we will be setting up a scene at the address today to determine exactly what happened.

“We are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident at this stage.”
