Violent man banned from ASDA,shopping centre, and Ashfield street

A violent man labelled a ‘persistent nuisance’ by police has been banned from a supermarket, shopping centre and street in a Nottinghamshire town. Ricky Clark, 28, had been inside a block of flats on Lammas Close, Sutton-in-Ashfield, on Saturday, January 9, when he had started to threaten an Ashfield District Council Community Protection Officer who had been sent to investigate a report of antisocial behaviour.

Following their retreat outside the premises, the victim was being pursued by Clark, who had started to threaten them with harm. After entering a guilty plea on Wednesday, February 14, to using threatening words and behaviour towards the council officer, which caused them to believe they might be attacked, Clark, who has no fixed address, was found guilty.

Clark was ordered to comply with a community rehabilitation order and make restitution to his victim. Later, a request for a Criminal Behaviour Order was made, claiming that Clark was a violent person and a continuous annoyance in Sutton-in-Ashfield, especially around the Asda supermarket, Idlewells Shopping Centre, and Lammas Close. The Mansfield Magistrates Court granted the Criminal Behaviour Order in its entirety on March 13.

“The courts are allowed to issue such an order because of the evidence that has been obtained from local residents and retail employees, in addition to reports that have been made to police through 101 and 999. I would want to urge every local to keep reporting antisocial behaviour and ongoing problems in the neighbourhood, such as begging, so that the police can take the appropriate measures and present the supporting documentation.”
