Inquest opened into death of Swaffham man

Andrew Gooch, 53, was driving a red Vauxhall Zafira when it was involved in a collision with a JCB tractor on the A1075, near Stow Bedon, on August 8.

An inquest into his death opened this week at Norfolk Coroner’s Court. It was told that Mr Gooch was a father-of-three who worked as a plasterer and lived in Swaffham.

At the hearing, Jaqueline Lake, the senior coroner, said his official cause of death had been multiple trauma from a road traffic collision.

The crash happened just before 7am and Mr Gooch, who was born in Southend, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and a police investigation is ongoing.

Mr Gooch’s funeral was held at Breckland Crematorium onAugust 9 and family members have paid tribute to him on Facebook.

His wife Kelly Gooch described him in a post as a “wonderful, funny, amazing man” and his brother Tony Gooch said in a post that “Andy will live on through his beautiful children”.
