Police close road after man dies in crash in Swaffham

A man has died after a crash on the A47.

 

Today at 1:20 PM, an automobile veered off the A47 at Wendling and collided with a hedge, prompting the emergency services to be called.

The road between Scarning and Wendling was closed while emergency personnel, including police, fire, and ambulances, responded.

An adult male driver of the car passed away at the scene, according to an East of England Ambulance Service spokesman.

After a single vehicle crash on the A47, a man in his 70s passed away.
On Friday afternoon, the emergency services were called to a section of Norfolk between Dereham and Swaffham, near Wendling.
It is understood that the driver passed away at the scene after the car struck a roadside hedgerow.
Police are looking for witnesses, and the road was closed for a while.

The incident happened at 13:23 GMT, according to Norfolk Police.
Anybody with dashcam footage or who may have witnessed the collision is wanted to speak with the police, according to their statement.
A white Nissan Qashqai collided with the hedgerow, according to a force spokesperson.
“The road was closed whilst emergency services attended the scene including ambulance and fire,” they stated.
“Sadly, the driver of the Qashqai, a man aged in his 70s, died at the scene.”
