Swansea City confirmed Premier League star ahead of Leeds United

Yannick Bolasie, a free agent, could give Swansea City a boost before their midweek trip to Elland Road. Bolasie, a former winger for Crystal Palace and Everton, has been training with the Welsh team for the past week, and Swans manager Michael Duff is optimistic that Bolasie will put pen to paper before Wednesday’s game against Leeds United.

Yannick has been at the location for a week, according to the former Barnsley manager. Hopefully, that will be completed. He’s lost some of his former strength and speed, but you don’t get signed for £25 million [by Everton] if you can’t handle a football. We’ll see how things progress after the two-month period is up.

Bolasie, who has been capped 50 times by the Democratic Republic of the Congo, has nine goals for his country. He played his final club football season with Çaykur Rizespor in Turkey, where his 17 goals helped the team get promoted back to the top division.

Bolasie, a former Whites striker’s cousin, made his breakthrough in August 2012 when he signed with Crystal Palace. The Lyon-born attacker made a lucrative move to Everton after four fruitful years in South London, but he struggled to establish himself as a regular in the team and spent the next three years on loan at Aston Villa, Anderlecht, Sporting CP, and Middlesbrough.

The 34-year-old talented winger is training with Swansea, a midtable team that is eight points above the drop and eight points out of the playoffs, after spending two years in Turkey. Bolasie will be able to play against Daniel Farke’s Leeds United when the teams meet at Elland Road on Wednesday, provided the deal closes as planned.
