3 replacements Swindon Town consider as Bradford City weigh up

Swindon Town loan man Jake Young has been linked with a return to parent club Bradford City this winter, as per a report by the Swindon Advertiser.

Swindon Town swooped to land the attacker on a temporary basis over the summer from their fellow League Two side.

Since then, Young, 22, has become a hit with the Robins, amassing 16 goals across all competitions thus far.

The following three players are potential replacements for Michael Flynn should he return to Valley Parade in January.

Cole Stockton
Although he has a track record of scoring goals in the Football League, his summer transfer to Burton Albion hasn’t been successful. If Swindon could convince the forward to drop a league, he would be perfect for them and could do with a change of scenery this winter.

29-year-old Stockton scored 59 goals for Morecambe in 178 games during his time there. After the Shrimps were relegated from League One at the end of June, he left the team as his contract was about to expire.

Caldwell Harry
The former player for Southend United, who previously played for Reading and Grimsby Town, has been an important forward. In 62 games for the National League team, he has scored 22 goals, 12 of which have come this season.

Although Caldwell hasn’t participated in a Football League game since 2020, he has shown his value in the fifth division and might be worth a gamble for a team like the Robins in January to strengthen their offensive line for the second half of the season.

Afolabi Jonathan
The 23-year-old has drawn attention while playing for Bohemians and has a promising future ahead of him. For the League of Ireland team in their 2023 season, he scored 20 goals in 40 games, and they will have to fight to hold onto him.

Afolabi was previously signed by Southampton and Celtic.
