Firefighters are tackling a blaze at a house on a major route in Swindon.
This morning (Tuesday) at around nine in the morning, Oxford Road received a call from the Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service.
Thick smoke was rising from the property as firefighters prepared to fight the fire.
Emergency services have blocked the road, and police have closed it in both directions.
Following a house fire, Oxford Road in Lower Stratton is closed, according to a Wiltshire Police spokesman.
“As our colleagues from the Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service battle the fire, officers are providing support.”
“Due to heavy smoke, the road is closed starting at the White Hart roundabout. Kindly stay away from the area.
