Swindon: Three arrested after FA Cup exit to Aldershot

Following chaos following Aldershot Town’s FA Cup victory over Swindon Town, three people have been taken into custody.

After the match in Swindon on November 4, they were arrested for assaulting a steward, causing criminal damage to a vehicle, and hurling an object onto the field.

The non-league team defeated Swindon 7–4, and following the game, there was more violence at the County Ground Hotel.

While no injuries were reported, Wiltshire Police say that investigations are still ongoing.

Football fans were shown yelling and fighting at the hotel in a video that was posted on X, the former Twitter. In excess of one million people watched it.

“Officers deployed as part of the wider football event were quickly on the scene and were able to separate the groups involved,” a Wiltshire Police spokesperson stated.

“An investigation is still underway, but at that time there were no reported injuries.

“Three separate but football related arrests were made throughout the afternoon.”
