Man arrested for kidnapping two young girls’ in Swindon

Prasath Yasasvin is charged with attempting to entice the children into his car on Redhouse Way on Monday, April 1, at approximately 7:20 p.m.

Today, on Wednesday, the 38-year-old from Dunley Close in Swindon made her appearance at Swindon Magistrates Court.

He is accused of two counts of trying to kidnap a child and one count of operating an MG 4 while intoxicated.

Owing to the grave accusations, the defendant was placed under detention in custody and the case was transferred to Swindon Crown Court.


On April 26, he is scheduled to attend a plea and trial preparation hearing.

“I’d like to thank the members of the public who called this incident in to us,” stated Guy Elkins, superintendent of police. We recognise the concern this would cause in the community and we take events like this very seriously.
