A next USA Basketball junior national team minicamp in Colorado will feature several four- and five-star recruiting targets for Syracuse basketball in the 2025 and 2026 classes.
85 high school prospects will take part in the minicamp from October 6 to October 8 at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, according to a statement from USA Basketball.
The USA Basketball men’s developmental national team committee chose the invitees, who will take part in exercises, scrimmages, and educational sessions that concentrate on NCAA eligibility and life skills.
Only a few of the 85 participants had scholarships offered to them or have shown the Orange some amount of interest. Huge congratulations to each of these men for receiving an invitation to this esteemed minicamp.
Next month, basketball recruits from Syracuse will participate in a minicamp for the USA Basketball junior national team.
Four-star combo guard Darius Adams from New Jersey, four-star shooting guard Kiyan Anthony from New York City, four-star big man Nikola Bundalo from Ohio, and four-star point guard Jerry Easter II from Ohio are among the invitees to the minicamp for the 2025 cycle.
In the summer of 2022, the Orange served Adams and Easter. A Cuse offer was accepted by Anthony in November. In May, Bundalo received a basketball offer from Syracuse.
However, I haven’t noticed the Orange referenced in any of their recent recruitments. Recent media stories and social media posts from recruiting gurus have spoken about visits being taken or maybe in the works for Adams, Easter, and Bundalo.
My impression is that none of those three players consider the ‘Cuse to be a serious player right now, though that could change.
In regards to Anthony, the junior cycle Syracuse basketball coaches have him as a top focus. He has repeatedly stated that he will eventually pay the Hill a formal visit.
The 2026 class will feature players like five-star wing Adam Oumiddoch from Northern Virginia, four-star point guard Deron Rippey Jr. from Brooklyn, New York, and five-star shooting guard Jordan Smith Jr. from the Washington, D.C., region.
Oumiddoch stated in an interview that he is keeping an eye on the Orange in late July. Rippey received a basketball offer from Syracuse in late August, while Smith received one in May.
These 2026 players’ individual recruiting campaigns most likely still need to be completed. I wish the Orange would offer Oumiddoch. According to Rippey’s father, Rippey might consider making an unscheduled trip to the ‘Cuse in the upcoming months.
Smith’s high school and AAU program are well-known to the Syracuse basketball coaching staff, so I’m optimistic that the Orange will become a serious competitor for him.
