Picturesque footage depicts a burning bus that shot thick clouds of black smoke across the A19.
Following a Stagecoach bus fire, emergency personnel were dispatched to the Mandale Interchange on the A19 northbound carriageway. The Cleveland Fire Brigade stated that crews from Coulby Newham, Stockton, and Thornaby were dispatched to put out the fire at approximately 6:30 p.m.
The incident log for the brigade states: “Three jets and three breathing apparatus were used by the fire brigade to make the scene safe after a bus fire. The bus sustained 100% fire damage.”
Photos from the scene show the bus’s rear completely destroyed by flames. Four fire engines and a police car were seen at the road, and cones were used to block off the area.
There are about six firefighters visible addressing the situation as traffic is directed off the A19. Cleveland Fire Brigade confirmed they left the scene at around 7.23pm
