The Toronto Raptors have listed Gary Trent Jr. as doubtful to play Saturday against the Boston Celtics
It is currently anticipated that Gary Trent Jr. won’t play for the Toronto Raptors on Saturday night against the Boston Celtics.
The club declared Trent’s status as uncertain due to plantar fasciitis in his right foot. Trent hasn’t shown on the injury report yet this year.
With Precious Achiuwa getting closer to a recovery, Toronto had planned to be playing at nearly full strength on Saturday. With a left groyne strain, Achiuwa’s status is still unknown, despite the most recent report indicating he has started practising again.
Trent looked like he was working with Raptors coach Darko Rajaković during Friday’s workouts. The original injury report did not include him.
Toronto will likely rely more on Otto Porter Jr. as a backup shooting guard if Trent is indeed sidelined. Porter, who missed nearly the whole season previous year, has emerged as a vital reserve player for the Raptors. Chris Boucher, Jalen McDaniels, and Malachi Flynn will probably accompany him.5z
It’s unknown if Trent has been bothered by the ailment all season. Despite shooting 36.9% from the field, he is only scoring 10.4 points on average. In Toronto’s most recent game against the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday night, he did not appear to be hurt.
The only other Toronto player missing is Christian Koloko, who is still out due to a persistent respiratory condition.
Since the Celtics will be playing two nights in a row, they have not yet released their injury report. Al Horford rested on Friday and is anticipated to play on Saturday.
