Torquay United gets justice for deducted points.

Torquay United of the National League South has lost a point due to fielding an ineligible player.

In addition to losing 10 points for going into administration last month, the Gulls have now been penalised again before their trip to Bath City this coming weekend.

With three games left, the Gulls are four points clear of the relegation zone after the league table is adjusted, dropping them to 19th place.

A statement was released by the National League on Friday, April 12:

“Torquay United Football Club was found guilty of one Rule 6.9 breach by the Independent Panel. The club fielded an ineligible player because it neglected to make sure all players were not suspended before a game.

“The Panel determined that the Club’s record from playing season 2023–2024 should be reduced by one point earned from the fixture, in addition to a £750 fine.”
