Tottenham complete agreement’ to sign £23m from Genoa’

That’s according to Rudy Galetti, with the journalist providing a fresh update on Radu Dragusin’s proposed move to Tottenham.

Spurs are not wasting time in bringing in a new center-back for Ange Postecoglou this month.

Tottenham have been connected with OG Nice player Jean-Clair Tobido, but it appears that they are going ahead with their approach for Radu Dragusin.

Indeed, according to Fabrizio Romano, Spurs have already signed personal terms with Dragusin ahead of a possible move to North London.

According to Rudy Galetti, Spurs are close to signing the Romanian defender after striking an agreement with Genoa.

Tottenham set to sign Dragusin

On Tuesday afternoon, Galetti reported on X that Spurs are likely to buy Dragusin for a cost of roughly £23.4 million.

“Tottenham are set to finalise the agreement with Genoa for Radu Dragusin: positive feelings to finalise the deal soon,” he added.

“Talks are at an advanced stage, with THFC open to increasing the bid to €27 million.”

“The Romanian CB is keen to join the English club: personal terms already agreed.”

If the latest update from Galetti turns out to be correct, landing Dragusin in the first week of the window would be a huge boost for Postecoglou.

The Aussie has had to deal with several injuries and suspensions over the past couple of months, particularly in central defence.

Micky van de Ven is closing in on a return but has been sidelined with a hamstring injury since November. Cristian Romero is also set for a spell on the sidelines after suffering a hamstring injury in the 2-1 win over Everton.

Dragusin was praised as a ‘great’ defender after his outstanding stint at Genoa.

This season, the 21-year-old has made 18 appearances in Serie A, scoring twice and assisting once.

He will undoubtedly give strong insurance for both Romero and Van de Ven, while also providing Postecoglou with a different type of option at centre-back due to his domination in the air, something Spurs currently lack.
