capitulation is ‘understandable ‘but a ‘hard one to take’ says boss

Spurs suffered their second straight Premier League loss against Wolves thanks to two goals in injury time, according to Ange Postecoglou, who claimed his men “ran out legs at the end.”

At Molineux, Brennan Johnson scored the first goal three minutes in, despite Postecoglou’s absence of defenders Destiny Udogie, Cristian Romero, and Micky van de Ven.

Pedro Porro was now the sole consistent starter for Spurs in defence, with Eric Dier starting at centre back with Ben Davies and Emerson Royal starting on the left.

In the 91st minute, Pablo Sarabia, a replacement, hit an incredible volley that past Guglielmo Vicario at his front post, giving Wolves a chance to tie the score in the second half.

After Mario Lemina’s game-winning goal in the 97th minute, Postecoglou said his players’ exhaustion was “understandable,” since many bench players finished the game.

“This is always a difficult game,” Postecoglou said to TNT Sports. The wolves would always start off strong, and in the end, we ran out of legs. Given that many of those men haven’t played, that makes sense. They managed a hard-to-take couple of well-executed goals.

“Wolves are difficult to defeat, and they attacked us.” We could have started the first half stronger. We had opportunities that we could have seized, but we played cautiously and scored early.

In the meanwhile, Wolves manager Gary O’Neil stated that he is “possibly the most proud” of his work as a head coach.

Since I’ve been a coach, I think this is the most proud I’ve ever been of the team, O’Neil remarked. “After the first five minutes, we were the superior team. Even though we were behind 1-0 after 85 minutes, I was still impressed with the team’s superb mindset and comprehension of our goals.

It was amazing to go and grab an equaliser and then a victory. Delivering the message is made simpler by the two goals, but I was proud, happy, and convinced the crowd appreciated it.

“The beginning disappointed me; we moved slowly. However, the crew was prepared to go above and above today. We handled everything ourselves, without any justifications or refereeing calls. The band and their fan base have a strong relationship.

Lemina, who won the match, declared that after overcoming several injury issues, he is in the best shape of his life.

“This sensation is incredible,” the Gabonese midfield player remarked. “We’ve been exerting a lot of effort. We played the finest strategy against them, and we proved it tonight. We deserve this game. I’m overjoyed that I scored the winning goal.

Right now, I’m feeling great. I’m not getting hurt because of the love from my supporters. Together with the club, I adore them. I’ve made an effort to repay them. We’ve been applying a lot of pressure. The substitutes were outstanding; [Matheus] Cunha made a nice pass, and [Sarabia] had a fantastic finish.

We will enjoy this, but we also need to consider the upcoming game and the international break.
