Tottenham could be without Heung-min Son and two other players for crunch clash against Liverpool

has confirmed that Heung-min Son and James Maddison could both miss Tottenham’s clash against Liverpool.

Spurs host the Reds on Saturday as they look to end September on a high after a promising start to life under Postecoglou

The Australian’s side held rivals Arsenal to a 2-2 draw last Sunday, with Son and Maddison combining for both goals as Spurs equalised twice to steal a point at the Emirates.

But now, Spurs have been dealt a possible double injury blow, as Postecoglou revealed last weekend’s stars may not be available to face the Merseyside outfit.

He’s also totally ruled out one of the other players that started against the Gunners, too.

Deadline day signing Brennan Johnson came off at Arsenal after pulling up and clutching his hamstring.

Now, the Spurs boss has confirmed the former Nottingham Forest forward will be sidelined this Saturday.

“Brennan will miss out this week,” Postecoglou said in his pre-match interview. “It’s nothing too serious, but it’s enough to keep him out.”

Unlike Johnson, Postecoglou hasn’t ruled Maddison and Son out.

However, he did state their availability for the fixture remains to be seen, despite them both training on Friday.

He remarked: “Madders and Sonny, they trained today, but will see how they are after training.

“Both got through everything we needed them to get through, but it’ll depend on how they pull up.”

Spurs are still without Ivan Perisic, who has an ACL injury, Rodrigo Bentancur, Ryan Sessegnon, Bryan Gil, Giovani Lo Celso and Alfie Whiteman.

Meanwhile, Trent Alexander-Arnold is set to return for Liverpool.
