James Maddison, a star for Tottenham Hotspur, has garnered praise from Jamie Carragher, who said that he is quickly rising to the top of his list of favorite Premier League players.
The 26-year-old Englishman plays football incredibly well. He has been brilliant for Tottenham this year, and even Carragher was impressed by his efforts.
James Maddison, was acquired by Tottenham in the summer for just £40 million (Sky Sports).
After playing just over 500 minutes of football this season, the England international has already scored twice and racked up four assists.
The 26-year-old is unquestionably among the best players in the nation right now, and Jamie Carragher claims that he is quickly rising to the top of his list of favorite Premier League players. The commentator also likened Glenn Hoddle and Paul Gascoigne, two former Tottenham players, to Maddison.
James Maddison is quickly becoming one of my favorite Premier League football players; he plays and speaks like he is from a bygone age, the author said in his column for The Telegraph.
“Maddison has a mischievous charm that makes you think of 1970s icons Rodney Marsh or Frank Worthington. He is a maverick. When asked for his opinion, he has no filter because he wants to amuse with the ball.
“It’s unclear if he is describing the game or acting out a scene from The Inbetweeners.
“Maddison appears to be the ideal Spurs player, carrying on the legacy of Glenn Hoddle and Paul Gascoigne as someone who makes fans happy.
Football is usually more enjoyable when Maddison-like characters view the sport as more of an art than a science. He is one of those exceptional football players who is loved by both home and away supporters alike.
Tottenham and Liverpool both enjoyed strong starts to the season.
The Reds appear to be regaining their best form following a disappointing season last year, and Tottenham will have their work cut out for them when they play them tomorrow.
Even though Liverpool has played well, their defense still has holes, and Maddison is the only player who can now take advantage of them.
It will be intriguing to see if the Spurs’ number 10 can tomorrow help his team defeat the Reds.
