Cloned licence plates were on the stolen vehicle that a man was driving when he was killed in an accident involving a lorry.
At 03:15 BST on Monday, the 51-year-old lost his life when the lorry and silver Peugeot 107 crashed on the A326 in Totton, at the intersection with Monkton Lane.
According to Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary, there may have been another car nearby at the time of the collision, but it fled before police could reach.
It stated that on June , 2024, the Peugeot was taken from the Fordingbridge parking lot.
It said the Peugeot was stolen from Fordingbridge car park on 23 june 2024.
