Police lunch investigation on death of woman and daughter in Totton

The mother of a guy who has gone missing and is thought to have killed his girlfriend and their eight-month-old daughter sobbed as she urged him to turn himself in to the authorities.

Anthony Marsh, who hasn’t been seen since yesterday morning, was named by police as a murder suspect in the killings of 24-year-old Stephanie Bellinger and her daughter Lily. A relative paid them a visit yesterday in Totton, which is near Southampton, and discovered them dead. The two-year-old son of Bellinger was discovered uninjured.
A police official described Marsh as “dangerous” and stated that it was a “matter of urgency” for detectives to talk with him.

The results of a post-mortem on Stephanie’s body tonight indicated that she died from multiple stab wounds; Lily’s body will undergo a post-mortem tomorrow.

As Wendy Marsh attempted to read out a statement written to her son at Southampton Central Police Station, she broke down in tears and was unable to continue.

On behalf of his mother, Detective Constable John Woodward contacted Marsh, saying, “Anthony, please know that all of your family is very concerned about you, whether you are watching, reading, or hearing this.” They are available to assist you in any manner that they can. Running away or hiding is a waste of time.

“You have to turn yourself in to the police at this point, whatever happened, or call them and let them know where you are. Please Anthony, for the sake of all the family.”

It is known that Marsh has previously vanished and that he has travelled to Weymouth, Plymouth, and Bristol in the west and Brighton and Portsmouth in the east. “Remain open as to his exact whereabouts,” according to the police.
He has a tattoo on his left forearm and is characterised as Caucasian, 6 feet 2 inches, with short fair hair, brown eyes, and a slender body. According to authorities, he frequently sleeps on the streets or in churches and is known to travel by rail.
The police declared, “Mr. Marsh is dangerous and should not be approached.”
Detective Chief Inspector Colin Mathews alerted the public to the possibility that Marsh was carrying a knife, calling the situation a “tragedy” for the family.

Mathews continued, “Mr. Marsh had a preferred place he loved to visit and was known to go on lengthy hikes within the New Forest national park. Locals refer to it as the Devil’s Dyke near Burley, and it is located between Lyndhurst and Bournemouth.
“If you are a dog walker, a horse rider or someone else who has visited the New Forest during the past two days, have you seen someone matching Mr Marsh’s description?”
On Friday, neighbours reported hearing shouting coming from the semi-detached property. However, they assumed it was the result of boisterous teens playing in a nearby park.
Leanne Rowe, 25, stated: “There was some noise about 8.30pm, a lot of shouting and then we heard a car driving up.”
A year and a half ago, Marsh, a former customer relations adviser for British Gas, sparked a police hunt after vanishing from the family home, according to the local paper, the Southern Daily Echo.
