After his vehicle collided with a lorry in Hampshire, the man who was driving died.
At approximately 03:15 BST on Thursday, the 51-year-old man from Christchurch, Dorset, and his silver Peugeot 107 collided with the lorry on the A326 in Totton at the intersection with Monkton Lane.
His family has been notified.
The A326 was closed between Fletchwood Road and the A35, however it reopened around 15:00.
The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary stated that they would be happy to talk to anyone who observed a silver Peugeot 107 in Totton and New Milton early on Saturday morning with the license plate ending in JHZ.
