Totton murder: Two brothers sentenced to life

For the Hampshire town of Totton Courtney murder, two brothers received life sentences in prison.

After a three-week trial at Winchester Crown Court, Charlie George Thomas Cooper, 19, of Ashby Road, and Sidney Andrew Cooper, 26, of no fixed residence, were given their sentences.

In August  the two were convicted guilty of killing Courtney Jones, a 26-year-old.

Upon arriving at the hospital, Courtney was declared deceased despite having sustained two stab wounds to his belly and chest.

Charlie Cooper will serve at least 15 years, while Sidney Cooper will serve at least 18 years.

The victim of this violent attack was repeatedly kicked, punched, and stabbed. Courtney’s spouse and child, who will be affected by this occurrence for the rest of their lives, are in our thoughts and prayers today. Although these sentences won’t bring Courtney back, I hope they will provide them some closure on this terrible event.”I would like to take this opportunity to thank the many officers who have worked diligently to investigate what happened and bring the offenders to justice, as well as the members of the public and paramedics who tried desperately to save Courtney’s life.”
