Two men arrested over the death of a man in a city centre street have been released by police.
The man, who appeared to be in his 40s, was discovered on Friday at around 00:40 GMT at the intersection of Southampton’s Oxford Street and Bernard Street.
The Fareham man had been involved in an attack, according to police, and had suffered a cardiac arrest.
The two Totton men, ages 35 and 60, who were detained on suspicion of murder have been released on bond while investigations are ongoing.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said two other men had come forward after CCTV was released as part of the investigation.
The force believed they were in the area at the time and may have witnessed the incident.
The force had also previously appealed for the driver of a grey or silver Nissan Juke, which was seen driving down Bernard Street at the time to come forward.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said the man had been involved in “an altercation” but died following treatment by paramedics.
