Body found as man charged with murder in Ulster

Late on Saturday night, the Ulster County Sheriff’s office announced that a guy from Kerhonkson had been charged with murder.

Damon Foy, 50, of Kerhonkson was taken into custody on Wednesday and charged with the felony of second-degree murder, according to the sheriff’s office.

In the Town of Esopus Justice Court, he was charged and released on bond to the Ulster County jail, with the understanding that he would need to appear in court again.

No other information was made public. The investigation is ongoing and open, according to the sheriff’s office, and further information will be disclosed later.

Foy’s lawyer’s name was not immediately available.

The Ulster County District Attorney’s office and the state police are supporting the sheriff’s office in their investigation.
