A juvenile suspect in a violent sectarian murder is being questioned by detectives in Northern Ireland.

On his way home from a night out close to his Glengormley, County Antrim home last Saturday, Trevor Lowry was attacked and later died.

In the loyalist Harmin Parade neighbourhood, the 49-year-old father of two was discovered suffering from serious facial and head injuries.

Mr. Lowry was a Protestant, but police looking into the incident think he may have been mistaken for a Catholic. According to a spokesman for the Royal Ulster Constabulary, a 16-year-old man was taken into custody yesterday in relation to police investigations.
Earlier, in an attempt to learn more about the deceased man’s last known movements, detectives had gone back to the scene of his death to speak with members of the public.
