Woman dies in road tragedy following two car collision in Ulster

Two vehicles were involved in the Sunday afternoon incident, which is being looked into by police.

“Police received a report shortly after 4pm of a collision on the Limavady Road involving a grey Citroen C3 and blue Alfa Romeo,” Inspector Cherith Adair stated.

“Officers from the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service and the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service attended the scene with their colleagues.”Both of the drivers—two men in their 70s—as well as the woman riding in the grey Citroen C3 received medical attention.Unfortunately, the woman, who was in her 70s, didn’t live long after going to the hospital to get her injuries treated.

“Neither driver’s injuries were life-threatening.

“The Limavady Road has reopened after being closed in both directions yesterday to allow emergency services to pass through.

“We would like to invite anyone with any information or who may have dashcam or mobile phone footage available to get in contact with us on 101, quoting reference number 1116 18/04/24. Our investigation is still ongoing.”
