After a multi-vehicle collision on the M8, five persons were transported to the hospital.

At approximately 8:50 p.m. on Tuesday, emergency personnel were dispatched to Glasgow’s city center’s junction 19 on the westbound carriageway after receiving reports of a five-vehicle collision.

Three ambulances, three special operations response teams (SORT), and a critical care paramedic were sent to the scene by the Scottish Ambulance Service.

One person was brought to Glasgow Royal Infirmary, and four others were sent to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

At 10.55 p.m., the route reopened after being closed to facilitate the retrieval of the affected automobiles.

“We received reports of a road crash involving five vehicles on M8 at J19 westbound, Glasgow around 8.50pm on Tuesday, February 18, 2025,” a Police Scotland representative stated.

While automobiles were being recovered, the road was stopped and officers responded. It reopened at approximately 10:55 p.m.

A representative for the Scottish Ambulance Service stated: “On February 18, we were called to respond to a five-car collision on the M8 westbound at junction 19.”

A critical care paramedic, three special operations response teams (SORT), and three ambulances were sent to the location. Five individuals were sent to hospitals, one to Glasgow Royal Infirmary and four to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
