AFC Wimbledon charged by FA’

The FA has punished Milton Keynes and AFC Wimbledon in connection with a “mass confrontation” that occurred during their League Two match on Saturday.

In the final minute, Ronan Curtis’ goal gave Johnnie Jackson’s team a 1-0 victory and all three points.

Since moving back to SW19, Wimbledon has not defeated Milton Keynes at Plough Lane before.

Huseyin Biler and Paul Kalambayi were both sent off in the second half as Milton Keynes defeated them 3-1 in January.

“AFC Wimbledon and Milton Keynes Dons have been charged following a mass confrontation at their EFL League Two game on Saturday, March 2,” an FA spokeswoman stated.

It’s alleged that both clubs failed to ensure their players and technical area occupants don’t behave in an improper and/or provocative way after the final whistle. AFC Wimbledon and Milton Keynes Dons have until Friday 8 March to provide their respective responses
