On Saturday, Nov. 2, the 18-year-old was driving his mother, who had given him tickets to the game as a birthday surprise, when an opposing vehicle swerved into their lane on a remote roadway in southeast Kansas.

According to a Kansas Highway Patrol crash report, the collision happened on U.S. 169 near Cherryvale shortly before 4 p.m., and the second car’s driver, 45, also lost his life.

As Connor’s uncle Colin Barnett told KOCO-TV, “Connor swerved right in a way and slammed on the brakes as hard as he could.”

He went on to say, “When Connor did that, he took the full brunt of the [Camaro],” adding that he thought the boy’s mother was probably spared by his acts.

Okla. Authorities say a father and son drowned after attempting to save a sister in rising floodwaters.

In an interview with the TV station, the boy’s uncle stated that the teenager “really wanted to see Baker Mayfield play” while his mother “wanted to see the Chiefs” and probably hoped to see Taylor Swift supporting her boyfriend Travis Kelce.

Organiser Seth Brooks provided an update on Megan’s condition on Friday, November 8 in a post on the GoFundMe, which has received over $128,000 to date.

Brooks added, “I want to thank everyone, including the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, for your continued support during this difficult time for Megan’s family.” “Your generosity is greatly appreciated.”

Megan has undergone numerous surgeries and “may have one or two more while she is hospitalised,” Brooks continued, adding that she is currently in the intensive care unit.

“Everyone’s generosity is greatly appreciated by Megan and her family,” he said. “The support of everyone, both close and far away, is encouraging, even though she still has a long road to recovery.”
