Blackburn Rovers blow with key fans favorited depart

According to The Lancashire Telegraph, Stuart Jones, the head of Blackburn Rovers’ academy, is expected to depart the team.

Jones has been with Rovers for more than ten years and has held a number of positions in the junior system. He has guided the growth of some of the club’s best young players.

Jones was elevated to Head of Academy during an Academy reorganisation this summer, with a particular emphasis on preparing players between the ages of 17 and 21 for the first team or a senior career elsewhere.

Jones was indeed headed for new pastures, as reported on Sunday. The LT is aware that Jones will remain at Blackburn Rovers for the next six months despite having given notice.

Jones is’ready for a new challenge’ following more than ten years of service at Ewood Park, according to club insiders. With Jones leaving in June, the club now has plenty of time to choose a replacement and start the handover process.

This is an important position for Blackburn to fill because the Academy is still one of Rovers’ greatest assets. A clear internal contender to take over again would be Paul Grey, who was elevated to Academy Manager during the summer reorganisation.

The Chief Scout position, which is intended to take John Park’s place, has not yet been filled by Rovers. With assistance from Adam Owen, Steve Waggott, and John Eustace, Rudy Gestede is still in charge of transactions.

It’s possible that an appointment was scheduled with a notice period served elsewhere because the interviews took place prior to Christmas. When the timing is suitable, Rovers are supposed to confirm an appointment via the official channels.

Due to one of their team members moving to Middlesbrough, the club will also be searching for a replacement analyst.
