As the Saints and the Blades get closer to completing a loan agreement, Sheffield United will get to see Southampton striker Ben Brereton Diaz again.
According to a post published by Alan Nixon on Patreon on Sunday, the Chilean international is eager to return to Bramall Lane this month.
The 25-year-old scored six goals in 14 Premier League games during his second half of the previous season while on loan at Sheffield United before rejoining his parent club, Villareal.
He hasn’t scored any goals at St. Mary’s since joining Southampton in the summer for over £7 million, though, and it now appears that he will return to the Championship on loan.

Nixon concludes that since it seems that both sides are interested in completing a temporary move this month, this could be a deal that could be finalised swiftly.
Southampton manager Ivan Juric has confessed to needing to trim down his Saints squad in January, and with the presence of Paul Onuachu, Adam Armstrong and Cameron Archer in the centre-forward ranks, Brereton Diaz appears to have been circled as one of those who can leave.
The Star have reported that Blades boss Chris Wilder is looking to bolster his attacking ranks, and has earmarked the capture of Brereton Diaz as a priority this month.

Brereton Diaz is a striker who’s proven himself as having the ability to be a deadly marksman at Championship level, with his goals as a Blackburn Rovers player from a couple of seasons ago earning him a feared reputation across the second tier.
