Body found in search for missing man in Norwich

Police searching for a missing school teacher in Norwich have found a body.

Anthony Hill, 37, left his address on Plumstead Road East at about 07:45 BST on Thursday before CCTV showed him at a Co-op store on Sprowston Road at about 09:58.

Officers confirmed a body had been found in an area off Heathgate shortly before 20:00 on Thursday and the force said the death was not believed to be suspicious.

Formal identification had yet to take place, but Mr Hill’s family had been informed, police said.

His wife, Kayleigh Hill, had tweeted on Thursday that she found it “reassuring” that so many people had contributed to the search, which had focused mostly on the Mousehold Heath region.
The money-saving guru Martin Lewis had expressed his shock at Mr. Hill’s disappearance; the two had collaborated before Mr. Hill moved to Norwich to pursue a career in teaching.
He shared a “heavy heart” social media post on Friday.

He wrote, “My love to Ant’s wife Kayleigh and their little girls,” on X, a platform that has 3.1 million followers.

“The news is the worst.

“I sincerely apologize to all of Ant’s friends and his young students. Ant, you will always be in my heart.

“Thanks also to the thousands of people who shared the posts during Ant’s disappearance.
