It appears that Bristol City will finish in the middle of the Championship for another season.
The Robins have had nine seasons with finishes ranging from 18th to 8th position after being crowned the clear winners of League One in 2014–15.
Similar trends are evident this season as they have been unable to fight for the coveted top six despite strong wins against opponents like Middlesbrough and Norwich City due to a string of draws.
Even though Steve Lansdown wants to make it to the Premier League, City finds it challenging to draw in players of the same level due to the high salaries in the Championship’s top divisions.
Even still, they continue to spend a lot of money on windows, and lowering the salary bill might enable them to sign some new players in January.
In light of this, Football League World has determined that Bristol City could deduct £15,000 from their January salary bill.
Bristol City should sell Harry Cornick
It would be an understatement to suggest that Harry Cornick has been a dismal addition to Ashton Gate as he approaches his two-year anniversary.
It was anticipated that the former Yeovil Town player, who arrived from Luton Town on January 2023’s deadline day, would contribute goals to the club and “get the fans out of their seats.”
Sadly, it hasn’t worked out, and since Liam Manning joined the team in November of last year, the former Hatters striker has played a smaller part and made fewer appearances.

With 18 months left on Cornick’s contract and a variety of choices at his disposal, it would seem like the perfect time for the head coach to take advantage of him.
With an estimated weekly salary of £15,000, Cornick is not one of the more economical players to keep, thus the Robins would be better off selling him now.
Although it may be challenging to force a departure at this salary, the 29-year-old might be better off getting playing time elsewhere if he has career goals.
Offloading Cornick can help fund January moves for Liam Manning
The attacker’s exit is becoming more and more important because he makes more than Bristol City’s anticipated average salary. If the player isn’t going to play for the team, the club can’t justify spending £1,170,000 on him over the following 18 months.
As a result, it appears likely that he will move on, which could enable Lansdown to finance some deals in January.
Even though City’s attackers aren’t playing at their best right now, they should concentrate on other areas because they already have a really potent strike force.
