Carlton Cole says West Ham have a player he prefers Carlton to join ahead of Jude Bellingham

Carlton Cole has named a current West Ham star as his favourite player in world football right now.

Of course, the Hammers don’t necessarily have the very best players on the planet at this moment in time, but they do have some of the most fun footballers in the world at their disposal.

While it’s true that players like Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus are a pleasure to watch, Cole told ESPN that Lucas Paqueta is his all-time favourite player in the world.

Jude Bellingham was not selected by Cole, who placed Paqueta in his top three together with Phil Foden and Kevin De Bruyne.

Lucas Paqueta is Carlton Cole’s favourite player

Which three players are currently your favourites in the world?

“Who is my favourite player? I must admit, Paqueta. Without a doubt. For me, he’s up there. I adore Bellingham just as much as I adore Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden, but there’s something about Phil Foden’s touch that I just can’t get over,” Cole stated.

Brilliant

Most people would probably agree that Paqueta is a more entertaining player than Bellingham, but when it comes to who is more entertaining to watch, the Brazilian definitely has the edge.

Although the midfielder doesn’t score goals as frequently as Bellingham, his skills nonetheless make him a more visually appealing player.

He has a terrific first touch, a keen sense of when to pass, and outstanding dribbling skills.

Although Paqueta is elegant, Bellingham is considerably more forceful, so it makes perfect sense that Cole would rather watch the West Ham player—especially considering the pundit’s allegiance to his former team.

The ability to observe Paqueta every week is undoubtedly a blessing for Hammers supporters.
