Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton’s fight at Ferrari is expected to be one of the primary plot points of the 2025 Formula 1 season. If Ferrari is successful in building a race-winning vehicle, you can anticipate seeing both drivers in the hunt as Hamilton aims for his eighth world championship and Leclerc pursues his first after eight years on the grid.
The British driver has been training with Ferrari at their Maranello headquarters in Italy for the past two months, integrating himself into one of the few teams in Formula One that is not based in the UK. Hamilton has described his first days at Ferrari as “tough,” but he has been enjoying the hype surrounding the move, saying he is “invigorated” to begin working with Ferrari. Journalist Nate Saunders discussed the collaboration between Leclerc and Hamilton on the Formula Fantasy Hub podcast, outlining one thing the Monogasque could do to get a “favourable” strategy from Ferrari in the races.
Charles Leclerc must out-qualify Lewis Hamilton for favourable strategy at Ferrari

It is common in F1 for teams to serve the lead car on track first during the pit stop phase, unless this will compromise the strategy of the other car.
Leclerc is expected to have the legs on Hamilton when it comes to one-lap pace, and this could make a big difference in qualifying and subsequently the races if Ferrariās car is competitive.
“They made a lot of changes to their car and procedures over the summer break, and by the end of the year, they discovered that, for the first time in a long time, they have a car that is very strong on Saturdays but is strongest on Sundays, and it was always the other way around.” As a result, the drivers were forced to overdrive the car, which put additional strain on the strategy team, Saunders said.
