That’s the view of Chesterfield assistant manager Danny Webb, who was speaking after ‘Shecks’ put pen to paper on a new two-year contract until summer 2026.
The right-back, 26, only made 12 appearances in the whole of last season but he has got more opportunities this term and he has impressed.
“I am really pleased for Shecks,” Webb said
I believe that ever since he entered the building, his supporters have really warmed up to him.
“He is a competent defender, but you saw, I believe, that he can also get forward from our goal against Watford. We wish to improve his crossing in a few specific places.
“He is always learning, so I do believe there is room for improvement with him. Especially for this level, he is an incredible player.
“He has committed to us, and that makes me and the rest of the staff extremely happy.
“I believe he will get better the more he plays.”
Sheckleford will be evaluated prior to Saturday’s trip to Barnet after suffering an injury against Altrincham on Tuesday.
