More than a week has passed since the Philadelphia Eagles crushed the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl 59. The game seemed to end before it had ever begun, and a new video has surfaced that forces participants and viewers to relive the terrifying game.
In the previously referenced video, the Chiefs defence tries to halt an Eagles “Tush Push” in which Jalen Hurts pushes through the o-line with assistance. Although it has become a contentious play and may even be prohibited this summer, the Eagles have benefited greatly from it throughout the Hurts era.
This clip shows Chris Jones lining up sideways to try and stop the play only to get completely flattened by Hurts and the Eagles’ offensive line. Jones missed a chunk of the second half of the game due to a neck injury and it wouldn’t be crazy at all to believe that the injury happened on this play considering how roughed up Jones got.

This one play probably isn’t something that Chiefs fans even remember from the game because, truthfully, the game was terrible pretty much from start to finish. The Chiefs trailed 24-0 by halftime and were down by as many as 34 points. They didn’t score until the end of the third quarter. It was a brutal beatdown and one that fans are going to be thinking about for quite some time.
As for this clip/play, it’s hard to fault Jones for trying something new. Very few teams have been able to stop the Tush Push so why not try to line up sideways and see if it gives you any kind of advantage? Jones tried something, it didn’t work out and he got obliterated, and now he’ll get dunked on for the foreseeable future. So it goes in the world of sports.
