The university’s football stadium, Kinnick Stadium, was jam-packed on Sunday for the Iowa women’s basketball team’s exhibition game against DePaul.
The Hawkeyes have sold more than 52,000 tickets as of Thursday, more than three times the number of seats that Carver-Hawkeye Arena can hold (15,500).

The energy in the stadium was palpable during the Hawkeyes’ pregame introductions. Naturally, the crowd let out a big cheer when star Caitlin Clark was revealed last.

The national runners-up also took part in the Hawkeye Wave, a custom initiated by the football team in 2017 wherein the players and supporters go to UI Stead Family Children’s Hospital to wave to the patients.
On Monday, Nov. 6, Iowa women’s basketball will play its first game of the season against Fairleigh Dickinson University.
