Dolphins star vows to pay suspended photographer’s salary after video fiasco

Tyreek Hill will not allow this to turn into a farce.

Photographer Kevin Fitzgibbons disclosed on Tuesday that he received a minimum one-year suspension by the NFL for his involvement in Hill’s touchdown celebration during the team’s victory over the Panthers on October 15.

The wide receiver for the Dolphins used Fitzgibbons’ mobile to record a backflip, which made the NFL-contracted photographer jump with excitement before he left the field to send the footage to the league.

Fitzgibbons received an indefinite suspension from the NFL and Hill was fined for using a prop during his celebration.

But the wide receiver wasn’t going to let his friend lose out.

“K-Fitz and I have a long history together,” Hill remarked on Thursday. The information was something I was already aware of. “Don’t let this get to you,” I told him. Simply raise your head. You’re still quite young. Keep doing the things you love. We are going to keep working together, him and I.

“I assured him that I would pay his salary, regardless of what the NFL would pay him.” I assured him that I would make sure to follow moral principles, look out for you, and ensure that you had a job. I like that guy.

Two years into a four-year, $120 million contract, Hill has plenty of money to spare and has stated that he bears full responsibility for the entire fiasco.

Hill stated, “It’s just one of those things that kind of happened.” He didn’t want me to take the camera from him, but I just grabbed it when I saw it. I just called my shot, then.

The resultant video has received 4.5 million views on TikTok, which has contributed to Fitzgibbons’s rise to fame.

Despite the suspension, the 20-year-old University of Miami student is still employed by the NFL and has previously collaborated on projects with Giants running back Saquon Barkley and Hill.

“Kevin Fitzgibbons is still a contracted employee of the NFL, despite reports to the contrary,” an NFL source told ESPN. It is stated that “he is welcome and encouraged to participate in any number of other projects involving off-field league events as well as personal projects with players, even though his game access has been temporarily suspended due to multiple violations of NFL policy.”
