Standard Sport believes that the Fluminense midfielder is a target for Craven Cottage, with chief executive Alistair Mackintosh visiting Brazil last month for face-to-face talks.
After signing a new deal until the summer of 2025, manager Marco Silva is likely to be supported in the transfer market.
Mackintosh was in attendance at the Maracana stadium to watch the 22-year-old Brazil international lead Fluminense to victory over Boca Juniors in the final of the Copa Libertadores in November.
