Dodgers free agent outfielder Jake Marisnick has signed a minor-league deal with the Los Angeles Angels for next season. He will be given a chance to make the big league team, and will possibly partake in the team’s Spring Training to show what he can do.
The Chicago White Sox, Detroit Tigers, and Dodgers were the three teams he played for during the previous season. Marisnick joined the Dodgers shortly after leaving Detroit, but his tenure as a member of the team was brief. Due to injury, the seasoned outfielder only played in four games, but when he did, he did so well. He hit a strong.400 while going 2–5 from the plate. He missed the remainder of the season after suffering an oblique injury. Marisnick now joins the Angels, where, if he makes the team, he will give them depth in the outfield and some veteran experience.

When Marisnick originally signed with the Dodgers, many were hesitant to embrace him because he was a part of the Houston Astros in 2017. Despite not playing for them in the postseason, his presence on the roster links him to the cheating scandal. It wasn’t meant to be because his injury prevented the L.A. fans from seeing what he could do for them. In an attempt to have an influence there, he is now joining the other Los Angeles squad.
